Whether you currently have a loved one living at one of our assisted living facilities or just came across our website, we want to welcome you to Alabama Oaks of Winter Park! There’s no question it can be difficult to find a senior living center that appeals to both you and your loved one. The Oaks of Old Winter Park is different in that it’s basically a bed and breakfast for the elderly. Our staff is proud to say that we’ve been a leading senior assisted living provider for more than 30 years. In this blog post, we will provide you with further insight into our facilities and what it means to offer the highest quality of senior care.

Not Your Average Assisted Living Facility

More than 30 years ago, our Alabama Oaks location accommodated an overflow of visitors to the iconic Alabama Hotel. As guests aged, they decided to stay put and not to return north. So the property gradually turned into an elder care center. What really makes The Oaks of Old Winter Park different is the atmosphere. Whereas residents in many assisted living homes tend to feel secluded, ours create a close bond with one another. How is this possible you may ask? Well, we make it a point to promote a family-like atmosphere. This means keeping resident numbers small to avoid overcrowding in our facilities. In turn, staff and residents interact on a truly personal level.

Then there are the surroundings. The unfortunate reality is that many assisted living housing communities are dominated by parking lots and traffic. That’s not the case with The Oaks of Old Winter Park. We are proud to say that our communities are nestled among the estate homes of Central Florida’s premier neighborhood. Rather than become stressed or uncomfortable with constant noise and traffic, residents feel at ease in a place situated along a quiet, tree-lined street.

What to Expect From Our Senior Living Center

So what services and amenities do we provide residents? Let’s start with the fact that your loved one will be monitored 24 hours a day. He or she will be treated to three home-cooked meals per day. Our experienced staff happily helps with activities of daily living such as dressing and bathing. Of course, we take your loved one’s health and comfort very seriously. Rest assured that we provide medication distribution up to four times a day. Our staff also goes the extra mile as far as physician communication is concerned.

We mentioned earlier that we do everything possible to make our facilities feel like home. At Alabama Oaks, your loved one has the choice of a private or a companion room. We’re certain they will absolutely love the highest quality of artwork and furnishings, as well as amenities such as comfortable dining rooms and entertainment/television areas. We even plan regular activities such as trips to the movies and bingo games.
